VINCI Construction UK wins contract for extra security facilities at Gatwick North Terminal

VINCI Construction UK have won a £3m contract from Gatwick Airport to undertake various changes and improvements to the security facilities for passengers within the North Terminal.

The work includes adapting the existing search and retail area to form a new 4-lane facility. A mezzanine will also be constructed above the area with office space and private search areas.

Jason Griffiths, Operations Director at VINCI construction UK’s Air Division, said:

“We are delighted to be continuing our excellent partnership with Gatwick Airport. We welcome the challenge to work on such a high profile site which will result in better facilities for the airport and passengers.”

The project will also include the modification of two existing security lanes to enable integration with the new four lane system, as well as the refurbishment of existing retail shop fronts.
