VINCI Facilities has recently undertaken some works under the Essex County Council Minor Works Term Contract. Working in partnership with St Peter's R.C. Primary School in Billericay, members of VINCI Facilities have delivered a local learning project to 41 eager 9 and 10 year olds, called the Tower Building Project. The purpose of the project was to raise awareness of the construction industry as a career and required each team to work together, undertaking specific roles including designer, project manager, surveyor and builder. The aim of the project was to build a tower at least one meter high in the quickest time using the least amount of blocks. Each team was scored on team work, design, profitability and ultimately the ability of the tower to stand unaided.
Involved in the project were Operations Director Garry McInerney and Head of Marketing Sally Bedwell, both from VINCI Facilites, Building Solutions - South, together with our Learning & Development Adviser Michael Bashford.
