VINCI Construction UK Supports School Enterprise Day

VINCI Construction UK recently supported an Enterprise Day at St Julie's Catholic High School in Woolton.  The event, held in conjunction with Liverpool Compact, featured local employers hosting workshops relating to their different industries. Liverpool Compact work with over 200 schools in Liverpool to enhance the opportunities of local young people through a framework of education business link activities.

The workshop was based on Site Engineering, with the pupils using construction equipment to measure the height of trees, to go on a treasure hunt and to measure the distances thrown in a welly throwing contest.

The workshop was led by Rob Bolton, Chris Kenny and Nick Parkinson, who are currently working on King David High School campus which forms part of the £500m Building Schools, Skills, Success scheme (BSSS).  The initiative will see every secondary school in Liverpool either re-built or extensively refurbished under the government’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
