Performance Beyond Compliance

The Building Division - South has been awarded a ‘Performance beyond Compliance’ certificate by the Considerate Constructors Scheme for Phase III of the Middlesex University campus at Hendon, a £40.5 million project to design and construct a new art, design and media facility.

One of the initiatives that contributed to the award was a site safety competition which was run in conjunction with St Joseph's Infant and Junior Schools. Both schools are located opposite the site. The children were tasked with producing a site safety poster with the aim of reinforcing the safety message, particularly that children are forbidden to enter the site.

The drawings were judged by the project team, architects and the client and the winner and runners up from each class were awarded book tokens and a certificate in recognition of their effort and achievement. The winning poster design from each class has been reproduced to A1size and printed onto boards which are now attached to the hoardings facing the schools.
