Gatwick Airport South Terminal

On 12th October, David Joyce, Managing Director of VINCI Construction UK Limited, attended the contract signing ceremony for the £31m refurbishment of Pier 2 at Gatwick Airport with Andy Flower, the Airport Managing Director and other members of Gatwick Airport Limited and VINCI Construction UK. This is the first of several contracts to be signed between the two parties, for which VINCI Construction UK’s Air Division are currently undertaking preconstruction and enabling works.

The £31m contract involves the redevelopment of Pier Two on the airport’s South Terminal. This will increase the number of stands on the south side of the Pier from the existing 9 to 13 which, in turn, will prepare the airfield for the future demolition and redevelopment of Pier One. In addition, substantial improvements to the gate rooms will provide a better environment for passengers.
